What is Massage Therapy?
The practice of massage therapy includes hands on manipulation and treatment of a wide variety of conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. These soft tissues include muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and connective tissues. Specialized movements and pressure over the soft tissues has a therapeutic effect on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems, and treatment has been proven to promote healing, improve function, and alleviate pain. Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are regulated health professionals whose governing body is the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario. They undergo comprehensive training and examinations and have an extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

What to Expect?
RMTs create an individualized treatment plan based on a confidential health history and thorough physical assessment. They will obtain consent before working on any part of your body, whether fully clothed or partially covered by sheets. RMTs create a professional and comfortable environment for their patients and work within their pain level throughout the treatment.

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a targeted pressure point massage with the purpose of restoring energy flow throughout the body. In Reflexology, the foot is a map to the entire system. Different reflex points on the foot relate to different organs and regions of the body, and by applying pressure to specific points a reflexologist can promote healing, boost the immune system, increase circulation, and balance energy. Reflexology can also be performed on ears and hands, but it is most commonly performed on feet.

What is Cupping Therapy?
Cupping Therapy is an ancient type of deep tissue massage. It’s performed by a therapist placing specialized cups for a few minutes on specific areas of skin with the purpose of creating suction. The suction facilitates soft tissue healing by expanding the blood vessels and increasing blood flow. Cupping Therapy has been proven to help reduce pain, release muscle tension, reduce inflammation, improve relaxation and promote well-being.
