Dr. Jennifer Flindall, B.A.H., D.C.
Chiropractor & Acupuncture Provider
Dr. Flindall’s interest in health care and personal vision of patient care began during her undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph. A long history of neck and back pain brought on by competitive dance and motor vehicle accidents caused her to explore various treatment options and ultimately led to her discovery of chiropractic and all it has to offer. Dr. Flindall’s passion for helping others in pain led her to enroll in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, from which she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Clinic Honours.
Dr. Flindall has worked with a wide range of patients, including pregnant women, children, seniors, and athletes. Her focus is on helping individuals with pain and dysfunction to reclaim their quality of life, just as chiropractic helped her to do. Dr. Flindall believes in individualized, patient-centred care and in developing treatment plans tailored to patients’ unique needs. She accomplishes this by using a variety of techniques which include, but are not limited to, Chiropractic Manipulation, Acupuncture, Active Release Technique®, and rehabilitative care.
Dr. Flindall moved to the Durham Region and joined Newcastle Family Chiropractic in 2013. She spends her time outside the clinic practicing yoga and martial arts, running, and relaxing with family.
Dr. Amy Henehan, B.A., N.D.
Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine
Dr. Amy Henehan’s interest in practicing medicine was first sparked as a teenager when she herself became a patient of a Naturopathic Doctor. Her passion grew as she continued to witness firsthand the healing that Naturopathic Medicine offers, and she walked away from the experience not only having resolved her symptoms, but also with a new life goal – to become a Naturopathic Doctor in order to empower others with the knowledge necessary to gain control over their own long-term wellness.
Her professional pursuits began with the completion of her undergraduate studies at York University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Dr. Henehan then went on to complete an intensive 4-year post-graduate program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), where she earned her Doctor of Naturopathy Degree. Her studies have taught her that good medicine does more than simply mask symptoms. Rather, it is important to first understand why symptoms have occurred, and to consider the entirety of a patient’s being–including mental, emotional and physical–in order to identify the root cause. Ultimately, the aim is to gently bring the body’s systems back into proper functioning, so the individual can achieve optimal health and improved quality of living.
While Dr. Henehan holds a general family practice, she has a special interest in weight loss, digestive health, fertility, women’s health and hormonal balancing. Her treatment plans often incorporate clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture & cupping, as well as stress management techniques. Dr. Henehan is a board-certified Naturopathic Doctor, registered in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO), and is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
Dr. Henehan joined Newcastle Family Chiropractic in 2017. She currently resides in Orono, and enjoys spending her spare time being in nature, with animals, or creating art.
