What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Book An Appointment!
The focus of naturopathic care is on you and your most concerning health issues. For some people, this means using natural medicines to support current medical treatment and for others, preventing chronic disease. The goal is to provide relief from your symptoms, while focusing and treating the root cause of your condition. Treatments can be supportive and in conjunction with your current medications and family doctor. Naturopathic doctors diligently check interactions between prescription drugs and natural medicines before making recommendations.

Treatments are individualized to the condition, your current and past medical history, as well as your family history. Naturopathic doctors can chose from a number of treatment modalities depending on the treatment plan, including:

  • Botanical Medicine
  • Clinical Nutrition
  • Asian medicine and acupuncture
  • Stress management and mindfulness techniques

What is Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is the use of biologically identical hormones for the purposes of hormone replacement therapy. Most commonly, BHRT is used in peri- and post-menopausal women to replace estrogen and progesterone to relieve many symptoms associated with menopause. It is also used to replace thyroid hormone in cases of established Hypothyroidism.

BHRT is available by prescription only. Upon completion of hormone testing for a comprehensive assessment of your current hormone levels, your prescription is individualized and the dosage is determined based on the results of your hormone test. Your hormone levels and prescription dosage is then reassessed periodically to ensure you are in the optimal range.
